Our mission at Futures for Felons is to empower every felon on the planet to achieve their full potential by giving them the resources they need to become productive, law-abiding citizens with thoughtfulness, understanding, and trust.

Sometimes the best help for felons is just letting them know that someone else cares about them, that their lives matter, and that they can succeed in life. If there is something you would like to see on this site or if you would like to assist us in providing help for felons, please contact us.

You are not alone!

Millions of felons have been released from jails and prisons all over the world, most of them right back into the same environment, the same situation, that fostered their illegal activities in the first place.

Maybe all they need to be successful, law-abiding members of society is for someone to offer them a leg up, grant them the opportunity to develop the skills they need. Futures for Felons provides help and assistance for felons who want to better themselves, survive reentry, and never ever go back.

Number of Prisoners Leaving Prisons

The times are changing!

The days of “Throw away the key” are coming to an end as Americans realize that rehabilitation is much more practical and economical than long prison sentences. People like David Trone, co-founder of Bethesda-based Total Wine & More, are also stepping up and contributing to the cause. This Washington Post article covers how the “Maryland couple is donating $15 million to the American Civil Liberties Union to expand a campaign to cut prison populations and promote private initiatives to rehabilitate and employ ex-convicts…”

And what about our children?

The Department of Health and Human Services says that, “Children of incarcerated parents are seven times more likely to be locked up one day.” Another statistic from the Women’s Prison & Home Association, Inc. states, “Children of offenders are five times more likely than their peers to end up in prison themselves. One in 10 will have been incarcerated before reaching adulthood.” Though many of us are still struggling ourselves, we can help. School2PrisonPipeline.org has made it their mission to end the cycle and stop the influx of America’s children into prison.

Hire the son or daughter of a prisoner and help lower the statistics!

Help the cause!

Please Contribute whenever you can. We try to make Futures for Felons an enjoyable and useful site. This doesn’t come cheap. The only funding we have to keep this going is through contributions from generous people like you!  Please Click Here To Contribute.

If you enjoy the site, please email our link to your friends. Let people know about our assistance for felons.  Maybe all of us together can empty these prisons and keep them empty!

    • We’re actually looking for some more blog writers. You must be a felon, obviously, and have an interesting take on our situation. Not looking for people to whine about the system. We get enough of that on our own. If you are upbeat and inspiring, this might be something you’re interested in.
